Christian Louboutin: Scarabée Collection

Inspired by Egyptian iconography, Christian Louboutin just launched the new, limited edition Scarabée Collection, featuring three new nail lacquers.

Christian Louboutin found his muse in a key piece of Egyptian iconography, the scarab beetle. The iridescent beauty and wonder of this creature sacred to the Pharaohs, inspired three new shades of nail colour – the Scarabée Limited Edition Collection. “They can look beautiful and reflective under the bright sun but also look like a precious jewel by night” says the designer.

To celebrate the launch, I was invited to their in-store preview where I was painting live fashion illustration portraits of guests, using the gorgeous Christian Louboutin Nail Colours, that feature pigment pearls that reflect two shades at once, delivering unique reflections that are reminiscent of the colors on scarab beetles.

Scarabée I comes in a nude pink/gold, Scarabée II flaunts a violet blue, and Scarabée III coats on a green/bronze color.
